Cast iron king fisher bird set into wooden display block.
Created by third generation forger Nobuho Miya. A master craftsman of nambu tetsu, or traditional cast iron, Nobuho Miya works from his Kamasada ironware studio, founded by one of his ancestors in the Meiji era. It is said that it takes at least 15 years to become a decent ironware maker, and 40 years to become a master craftsman. What makes Mr. Miya's work unique are his skilled craftsmanship coupled with his eye for elegant, simple, contemporary design.
